First dinner tonight was:

  • Roti (flatbread)

  • Lamb mince with peas (Keema Matar). The lamb was boiled the previous night. The next morning all the solidified fat was thrown. The lamb mince was then cooked with onions and spices. Lovely with peas, which add colour, nutrition and of course taste.

  • Lentils (Dal). The lentils were Toor/Arhar dal, also popularly known as Pigeon Peas.

Second dinner was:

  • Roti

  • Okra (Bhindi). My mother-in-law loves okra with extra onions, so much so that sometimes it looks like onions with Okra, instead of Okra with onions.

  • Yogurt. The yogurt was whisked, and small gramflour dumplings were added to it along with spices.
